DFDS expands Euro­pean Logi­stics net­work by acqui­ring Estron Group

Estron Group is a family-owned com­pa­ny loca­ted in Rot­ter­dam, the Net­her­lands, with around 130 employees. It’s a medium-sized logi­stics ser­vice pro­vi­der with a fleet of 300 trai­lers and 120 trucks, based in a stra­te­gic loca­ti­on in the port of Rot­ter­dam. The Group ser­vices both full- and part-load trans­ports for dry goods by road and fer­ry bet­ween main­ly the UK and Ger­ma­ny, Bene­lux, and Poland.

The acqui­si­ti­on of Estron Group expands DFDS’ trans­port net­work in seve­ral ways. By adding road trans­port capa­ci­ty to the exis­ting full-load ope­ra­ti­on to and from the UK, invol­ving both fer­ry and road trans­port, we can ali­gn this ser­vice with the exis­ting ope­ra­ti­ons from DFDS’ loca­ti­on in Vla­ar­din­gen, the Net­her­lands. In addi­ti­on, Estron Group’s part-load and warehousing ope­ra­ti­ons com­ple­ment the exis­ting simi­lar ope­ra­ti­ons based in Wijchen, the Netherlands.

The acqui­si­ti­on thus streng­thens cus­to­mer offe­rings and is expec­ted to gene­ra­te both com­mer­cial and ope­ra­tio­nal synergies.
